My step-daughter was on her honeymoon in New Zealand and staying in a hostel in ChristChurch. She happened to be up a mountain when the quake hit and was able to run for cover to dogde car size boulders tumbling down in the parking lot where she and her husband were standing! We are so gratetful and thankful that they are home now, safe and sound. Too close a call.
New Zealand, now Japan, and also Hawaii...mother nature appears to be reminding us that we are but just small beings in the great scheme of things. Our worries and problems are often insignificant in the big picture. SOOOOO....We had a famiy meeting this morning and decided that it was REALLY time to prepare an Emergency Kit for the home and to develop an emergency plan for the family in the event that it will be our media reporters here in BC filming horrific scenes of destruction and disaster.
If you're like me...you'll need a checklist! Here's a couple of links to help.
Really. There's no time like the present and nothing more precious then our own dear friends and family.
